Rangemoors care about the environment in which we live and are committed to offering our customers access to the best performing and lowest emission stoves on the market. We’re proud that these stoves come under the Ecodesign Ready brand – which enables consumers to identify stoves that have been tested to the high emissions standards of the Ecodesign Directive due to be introduced in 2022.
Here are three of our stoves which have been verified as SIA Ecodesign Ready, allowing you to enjoy the perfect fire whilst caring for our environment
ACR Solis
The ACR Solis is a contemporary stove, with sleek design, discreet controls, and a generous curved viewing glass of the fire. It has the flexibility of being a Multi-Fuel or Woodburning Stove, so this Eco Design Ready stove can be used as a Woodburner in smoke control areas. The Solis has a powerful airwash to keep the view of the fire clear. What’s more, at just 5kW, in certain situations an air brick may not be required.
All New Charnwood Island 1
The all new Charnwood Island I is an exciting redesign of the previously popular model of the same name. Not only does this stove meet strict Ecodesign 2022 and Defra exemption limits, it goes over and above. This means this stove is already smashing targets not due to come into force until 2022. In terms of design, you have much cleaner lines, perfect symmetry and a larger viewing window for an improved view of the dancing flames. Not only is the all new Charnwood Island I clean burning, efficient and stylish, but it is also incredibly easy to use with simple controls and cool-to-touch-handle.
Town & Country Cropton
The exceptionally clean burning Town & Country Cropton is another of our stoves which are DEFRA approved and meet the stringent 2022 Ecodesign standard. Combining a large viewing glass, 5kw output, simple controls and a slimline body the Cropton is a popular choice with our customers.
So, if your stove is getting on for 10 years old and you want to upgrade to a cleaner version, it makes sense to choose an Ecodesign Ready stove. Independent research conducted by Kiwa Gastec on behalf of the SIA has shown that SIA Ecodesign Ready stoves can reduce particulate emissions by 90% compared to an open fire and 80% compared to an old stove.
Finally, if you want to reduce emissions, it is also very important to burn the correct wood fuel. Stove appliance manufacturers work to a standard that assumes wood fuel with a moisture content between 12% and 20%. So remember that properly seasoned wood or an approved wood fuel will provide a cleaner more efficient burn with less smoke and emissions.
